The UAB Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology is dedicated to providing patients with comprehensive clinical, educational, and research services for all diseases related to the digestive tract and liver.

Our faculty members are active in teaching, patient care, and research at UAB. Faculty teaching responsibilities include daily interaction with fellows, residents, and medical students in University Hospital, Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) and The Kirklin Clinic. They also provide inpatient, consultative, and outpatient services at each one of these facilities. Each year, we continue to expand our faculty practice with new patients and updated servics.

In addition to the faculty clinical practice, our Divisision boasts one of the most comprehensive clinical and basic science research programs in the Southeast. Facutly members actively participate and provide leadership in the UAB Liver Center, UAB Muscosal HIV & Immunobiology Center (MHIC), and the UAB Pancreaticobiliary Center (PBC). Faculty members also utilize the division-wide clinical research program (GHCRP), which provides a specialized infrastructure to conduct clinical research.

Currently, the Division faculty practice is located on the 4th Floor of The Kirklin Clinic in the Gastroenterology/Hepatology Clinic. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, please call 205-996-4744.
